I’m from Kasilof, Alaska, but I’ve lived in Columbia, Missouri, for the past eight years.
My collection is inspired by the idea of renewal and transformation, blending traditional craftsmanship with a playful, contemporary edge. It draws from Japanese streetwear and traditional clothing, combined with the bold, oversized silhouettes of Western 80s fashion. Growing up in a resourceful, nature-filled environment, I developed a deep appreciation for making and mending, which translates into my designs through upcycled materials and intentional craftsmanship. The world is ending but it’s a day sort of attitude.

My collection draws from the valor and strength of the Middle Ages, channeling the imagery or armor and medieval warfare. I reimagine the honor, glory, and power once reserved for men in battle, placing them on women to redefine their role in this historic narrative. Through this concept, I aim to celevrate the resilience and bravery of women, offering them a visual language of strength and authority akin to the warriors of old.

Depths Rising is a concept collection inspired by asking the questions: “What if mermaids were real and could come to land once a year? What would they be wearing? Why would they be coming to land?” In the narrative of this collection, they are coming to land to escape the world of theirs that we as humans have ruined for them. And in asking what they are wearing is to realize the cyclical nature of this concept, that anything they would be wearing would be a result of humankind’s presence in the ocean.

My senior collection is inspired by the feeling of being lovelorn and the sadness that comes with unrequited love. The clothes are hyper feminine and take inspiration from historic garments and artwork. This collection conveys feelings of romanticism, heartbreak, and vulnerability. All of the garments were made from upcycled/secondhand or natural fiber materials and feature freshwater pearls throughout.

My senior collection is inspired by the ethereal elegance of a bride who feels as if she’s stepping out of a painting or getting married in a museum. Soft floral elements and rich emerald green tones create a balance between romance and nature, bringing an artistic and timeless feel to each piece. My experience in the bridal industry over the last two years has shaped my design approach, allowing me to craft a vision that feels both dreamy and sophisticated.

I grew up in Fujian, China, a beautiful coastal city surrounded by the ocean. The vibrant culture and rich history of my hometown have shaped my appreciation for artistry and craftsmanship.
My collection is inspired by Rei Kawakubo, particularly her visionary use of circles. Her exploration of form and abstraction has influenced my approach to polka dots, reinterpreting them as a dynamic expression of movement and fluidity in design.
